Teen Talk

For adolescents who are experiencing difficulties with emotional regulation.  The group will teach skills including mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.  The emphasis will be on using these skills to handle distressing situations and  improve relationships.

Parents will be required to attend 3 sessions to learn ways of supporting their children in using these skills.

 

        •   100% of participants said they learned new skills to help them cope with feelings of
             depression.
        •   80% of participants reported progress on their goals during the group

 

“I have not had a panic attack since.  I am a lot less depressed than I used to be.  I can cope with my anxiety a lot better.  It helped to know I am not alone in my struggles.”
