Volunteers enrich our services and make a difference in the lives of children and families by giving of their time, skills, dedication, and enthusiasm.
At The George Hull Centre, volunteers are needed and much appreciated in a variety of areas depending on current needs
Infrastructure Projects. From time to time, the Centre requires volunteers for physical labour to repaint rooms, plant gardens, provide landscaping expertise, etc.
Laugh Out Loud, We Are George and other events: At various times of the year, we host fundraising and community events which could not happen without the help of volunteers, in both the planning and execution/on-site stages.
Family Gift Match Program: Each year the Centre provides Holiday Hampers to families in need during the December holiday season. Caring individuals are assigned a family and provided a list of their needs and wishes, and then purchase/obtain those items. Volunteer support is needed in the form of a donating family as well as for the administration and execution of this meaningful initiative.
The Ontario Early Years Centre, a universal program for children from birth to age 6 and their caregivers, often needs the help of volunteers for special programming, such as a holiday party or summer BBQ. Click here to read more about the program.
The Highfield Community Enrichment Project (Better Beginnings, Better Futures) is a school-based primary prevention program working with children, birth to 6 years of age, their families, and the local Highfield community. Click here to read more about the project.
Research and Program Evaluation. We are often looking for volunteers who are willing to undertake data collection, entry and analysis.
Volunteers are required to have a vulnerable sector criminal reference check and a current medical certificate.
